Lola's Story We adopted Lola over a year ago, the cutest little Boston. She came from 5 years in a puppy mill and didn’t trust anyone. She stayed in her crate 24x7, only coming out to eat or potty. We took her to training, walked her daily (the only time she seemed happy was outside) and tried to love her, but she wouldn’t let us.
So for Christmas this past year, we decided she needed someone to help her figure out how to be a dog. We came back to Homeward
Bound looking for the perfect friend for her. We thought a puppy would give her a purpose, but after discussion with the staff they thought a puppy would be too stressful for her and suggested getting a dog a little older. We came to Pet supplies plus to let Lola meet a few dogs. The perfect dog was waiting for us, Lucy, a 2 year old Boston with LOTS of energy. Within a few weeks Lola was walking around the house, still afraid, but making progress. Now, 5 months later Lola will let us hold her and actually comes to sit by us to be petted. Lucy is such a sweet dog, and really smart.
She knows all the silly dog tricks and even dances!
